Orangajuli

The name Orangajuli comes from a translation that means the Orang people who live by the juri (a small stream in local dialect), which has converted to Orangajuli. These people comprised the workforce for an English adventurer who planted the first Tea seeds in 1894 which went on to become Orangajuli Tea Garden of today.

Situated in the Mangaldai district of Assam and bordered by the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan to the North, the environment here has been largely undisturbed over the years and even during times of unrest and conflict, the tea garden has been known to function normally, even ensuring despatch of their teas by Bullock-cart when no other transportation was available.

The special agro-climate of the area coupled with the foresight of the old Managerial staff, have given Orangajuli a blend of high quality clones of which the P126A has pride of place, giving the teas that unique flavour which is renowned the world over.
